WELCOME TO
TODAY’S GATHERING!

If this is your first time to join in, we invite you to observe those who have been around for awhile, then to engage elements of today’s gathering as you feel ready to.

KIDS’ & STUDENT DISCIPLESHIP

CLASS AVAILABLE FOR AGES 1-5

(Stop by the check-in table in the foyer)

OLDER KIDS REMAIN WITH GROWN-UPS.

Gathering elements engage kids, & activity sheets provided.
IF YOU DON’T HAVE ONE YET, grab yours by the door.

Each grown-up is responsible for your kiddos: please keep them, & others, safe before, during, and after the gathering. But it will be a little noisy during our gathering… and that’s OK!

+ make sure you sign up for kids’ emails, for info, follow-up discussion, & more!

WHAT WE’LL DO TODAY

Thanks for Scanning the QR Code & Finding This Page

For the most part, we will use the screen now that we’re meeting inside (we used personal mobile devices while we met outside at Brewed during Salt+Light’s earliest days. But in general, here’s what you can expect during our gathering. If you have questions about anything we do, just ask!

Singing

(as we declare praise to God)

We encourage both kids & grown-ups to engage in singing. If you don't know the song, or aren’t sure you believe the words, feel free to read along & listen to others, or to jump in as you’re ready.

Prayer

(as we bring our feelings & needs to him)

Praying has been a practice among God’s people for centuries — we pray for things we need, we celebrate things we’re grateful for, and we listen to God, collectively & personally.

Discussing & Teaching the Bible

(as we learn what God says & how we participate in his story)

Feel free to read & listen along as we read, teach, & discuss themes in today’s verses. See the section below for an intro to the book of the Bible we’ll be in today. When prompted, feel free to join in sharing thoughts & insights from the text & your experience. Please respect others perspectives, & respect the time as well.

Celebrations

(as we share God’s good news & work with each other)

Thank you for celebrating with us, as we share about God’s work in & through Salt+Light Community, & in the world we believe God sent us into, as a “good news people".”

Communion

(as we declare & remember Jesus’ death & resurrection)

Communion — receiving bread & wine together — is one of the ways we remember the core of Christian faith: Jesus’ death & resurrection. In this greatest act of sacrificial love, Jesus’ death took away our eternal death — God’s just punishment for our sin — & reconciles all brokenness. In the miracle of overcoming death, God promises us a hope for eternity, & ushers in a new kingdom now that changes every aspect of our lives.

Since communion is a “family meal” of sorts, available to anyone who follows Jesus, we ask that you observe others as they participate in communion if you don’t. If you don’t know if you follow Jesus, or have questions, we’d love to talk to you after today’s gathering.

Commission

(as we are sent into the world as “salt of the earth” & “light of the world” —Jesus, Matthew 5)

Based on these truths we sung & discussed today, & celebrated during communion — that Jesus’ death & resurrection are truly good news that impacts every aspect of life, and that in him we can have full acceptance and assurance — we are sent out into the world this week, to display & declare that good news through our words & actions, wherever we live, work, learn, & play.

It’s largely as we go from here that Salt+Light lives out our mission, “making disciples of Jesus, by seeking his kingdom everyday life.”

For those who plan to support Salt+Light’s mission & ministry financially,
